About me
As President of the World Council for Psychotherapy, Alfred Pritz has successfully institutionalized and advanced the scientific development of modern psychotherapy and the global networking of thousands of psychotherapists worldwide.
He played a significant role in shaping the Austrian Psychotherapy Acts for Psychology and Psychotherapy (as a distinct profession) that came into effect in 1990. Along with three colleagues, he founded the world's first university dedicated to psychotherapy science, the Sigmund Freud Private University Vienna. Over the past 17 years, it has grown into Austria's largest private university, with four faculties (Psychotherapy Science, Psychology, Medicine, and Law) and currently 6,000 students.
