About the personEmil Benedik is a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist, supervisor, and court-appointed expert with extensive experience in clinical work, teaching, and research. He earned his diploma and master’s degree in psychology (specializing in personality psychology) and completed his PhD in clinical psychology at the Department of Psychology, University of Ljubljana. He also specialized in clinical psychology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana.
He works as a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist at the Begunje Psychiatric Hospital, where he provides psychoanalytic and cognitive-behavioral therapy in both individual and group settings for patients with psychotic, neurotic, and borderline conditions. He is also active in psychological diagnostics, interdisciplinary consultation, and supervises and mentors students. In his private psychotherapy practice, he offers both psychoanalytic and cognitive therapy. As a lecturer, he teaches psychotherapy and psychological diagnostics at Sigmund Freud University Ljubljana and the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Arts, University of Maribor. Er ist als Klinischer Psychologe und Psychotherapeut im Psychiatrischen Krankenhaus Begunje tätig, wo er psychoanalytische und kognitiv-verhaltenstherapeutische Einzel- und Gruppentherapien mit Patient:innen aus dem psychotischen, neurotischen und Borderline-Spektrum durchführt. Darüber hinaus ist er in der psychologischen Diagnostik, im interdisziplinären Team als Konsulent sowie als Supervisor und Mentor für Studierende aktiv. In seiner privaten Praxis bietet er ebenfalls psychoanalytische und kognitiv orientierte Psychotherapie an. Als Lehrender unterrichtet er Psychotherapie und psychologische Diagnostik an der Sigmund Freud PrivatUniversität Ljubljana sowie am Institut für Psychologie der Philosophischen Fakultät der Universität Maribor. Zudem ist er gerichtlich beeideter Sachverständiger für Klinische Psychologie.
