About the person:Gisela Eife, MD, is a specialist in Psychotherapeutic Medicine and Psychoanalysis (DGPT, DGIP), and has been working in private practice since 1987. She has served for many years as a lecturer, training analyst, and supervisor at the Alfred Adler Institute for Individual Psychology in Munich, and since 2022 continues her involvement there as a supervisor.
From 1991 to 2006, she was responsible for the outpatient clinic for adult patients with psychological disorders at the Alfred Adler Institute. Between 2011 and 2013, she held the position of President of the German Society for Individual Psychology. Additionally, from 2007 to 2015, she was a lecturer at Sigmund Freud Private University in Vienna.
Dr. Eife is a member of the editorial board of the Alfred Adler Studienausgabe, edited by Karl Heinz Witte, and served as the editor of Volume 3 of this seven-volume series, published in 2010. She has published extensively on the theory and practice of Individual Psychology.
In 2016, she published her book Analytische Individualpsychologie in der therapeutischen Praxis. Das Konzept Alfred Adlers aus existenzieller Perspektive (“Analytical Individual Psychology in Therapeutic Practice: Alfred Adler’s Concept from an Existential Perspective”), followed in 2019 by her English-language e-book The Development of Alfred Adler’s Individual Psychology. Theory of Personality, Psychopathology, Psychotherapy (1912–1937).

Dr. med. Gisela Eife ist Fachärztin für Psychotherapeutische Medizin und Psychoanalytikerin (DGPT, DGIP) und seit 1987 in eigener Praxis tätig. Viele Jahre war sie als Dozentin, Lehranalytikerin und Supervisorin am Alfred-Adler-Institut für Individualpsychologie in München tätig, seit 2022 ausschließlich als Supervisorin.
Von 1991 bis 2006 leitete sie die Ambulanz für erwachsene Patient:innen mit psychischen Störungen am Alfred-Adler-Institut. Von 2011 bis 2013 war sie Präsidentin der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Individualpsychologie. Zudem war sie von 2007 bis 2015 als Dozentin an der Sigmund Freud PrivatUniversität in Wien tätig.
Dr. Eife ist Mitglied im Herausgeberbeirat der Alfred Adler Studienausgabe, herausgegeben von Karl Heinz Witte, und war Herausgeberin von Band 3 dieser siebenbändigen Reihe, der 2010 erschienen ist. Sie hat umfangreich zur Theorie und Praxis der Individualpsychologie publiziert.
Im Jahr 2016 veröffentlichte sie ihr Buch Analytische Individualpsychologie in der therapeutischen Praxis. Das Konzept Alfred Adlers aus existenzieller Perspektive. 2019 folgte ihr englischsprachiges E-Book The Development of Alfred Adler’s Individual Psychology.
