About the person:Katharina Reboly is a licensed psychological psychotherapist and psychoanalyst, working in private practice in Berlin. Born in 1981, she is the founding director of the Berlin branch of Sigmund Freud University (SFU) and currently serves as Vice Dean for University Psychotherapy as well as Head of the Psychotherapeutic Training Institute and the Bachelor’s Programme in Berlin.
Her clinical and academic interests include the research and treatment of Messie Syndrome, somatopsychotherapy in both theory and practice, psychotherapy in young adulthood, and the intersections of Art Brut and Outsider Art with psychological processes. A central concern of her work is the advancement of psychotherapy science within both academic and professional-political contexts in Austria and Germany. This includes the promotion of the academisation of psychotherapy across teaching, research, clinical practice, and training, with a strong emphasis on psychodynamically informed university development.
Her teaching focuses include: Psychotherapy as a Profession, Psychosocial Forms of Intervention I & II, and Treatment Technique.

Sie wurde 1981 geboren, ist Gründungsdirektorin des Berliner Standorts der Sigmund Freud PrivatUniversität (SFU) und derzeit Vizedekanin für Universitätspsychotherapie sowie Leiterin des Psychotherapeutischen Fachspezifikums und des Bachelorstudiengangs in Berlin.
Ihre klinischen und wissenschaftlichen Schwerpunkte umfassen die Erforschung und Behandlung des Messie-Syndroms, Somatopsychotherapie in Theorie und Praxis, Psychotherapie in der Lebensphase des jungen Erwachsenenalters sowie die Auseinandersetzung mit Art Brut und Outsider Art im Kontext psychischer Prozesse. Ein besonderes Anliegen ihrer Arbeit ist die Etablierung der Psychotherapiewissenschaft im wissenschaftlich-praktischen und berufs- sowie bildungspolitischen Kontext in Österreich und Deutschland. Dazu zählt insbesondere die Akademisierung der Psychotherapie in Lehre, Forschung, Praxis und Ausbildung sowie die psychodynamisch fundierte Hochschulentwicklung.
