Dr. med. univ. Sigrun Roßmanith ist Fachärztin für Psychiatrie, Psychotherapeutische Medizin und Neurologie sowie allgemein beeidete und zertifizierte Sachverständige für Psychiatrie, psychotherapeutische Medizin und psychiatrische Kriminalprognostik. Seit 1997 ist sie insbesondere auf Gutachten zu Gewalt- und Sexualstraftaten spezialisiert – mit einem besonderen Fokus auf Frauen als Täterinnen. Sie führt seit 1986 eine freie Praxis in Wien und ist zudem seit vielen Jahren als Konsiliarpsychiaterin an zwei unfallchirurgischen Traumazentren tätig.
Psychotherapeutisch arbeitet sie seit 1992 mit Methoden der Katathym Imaginativen Psychotherapie, Autogenen Psychotherapie und Hypnose. Sie ist außerdem Lehrtherapeutin der Österreichischen Ärztekammer für forensische Psychiatrie. Ihre medizinische Ausbildung begann mit dem Studium der Medizin an der Universität Wien, das sie 1978 mit der Promotion abschloss. Wissenschaftlich und universitätsnah war sie von 1985 bis 1997 als Oberärztin und Universitätslektorin am Institut für Medizinische Psychologie der Medizinischen Fakultät tätig. Zudem hielt sie Lehrveranstaltungen am Institut für Pharmakognosie der Naturwissenschaftlichen Fakultät. Ihre Lehrtätigkeit umfasste Themen wie medizinische Psychologie, Arzt-Patienten-Kommunikation, psychosomatische und psychoonkologische Inhalte sowie das interdisziplinäre Verhältnis zwischen Ärzten, Apothekern und Patienten.

Dr. med. univ. Sigrun Roßmanith is a specialist in psychiatry, psychotherapeutic medicine, and neurology, as well as a court-certified expert witness for psychiatry, psychotherapeutic medicine, and forensic psychiatric risk assessment. Since 1997, she has focused particularly on expert evaluations related to violent and sexual offenses, with a special emphasis on female offenders. She has maintained a private practice in Vienna since 1986 and also serves as a consulting psychiatrist in two trauma surgery centers.
Since 1992, she has worked as a psychotherapist using methods such as guided affective imagery (Katathym imaginative Psychotherapie), autogenic training, and hypnosis. She is also a teaching therapist in forensic psychiatry accredited by the Austrian Medical Chamber.
Her medical education began with the study of medicine at the University of Vienna, where she earned her doctorate in 1978. She completed her specialist training in psychiatry and neurology at the former Landesnervenklinik Maria Gugging (now the University Hospital Tulln). Before that, she studied psychology and sociology in an interdisciplinary program (studium irregulare) at the University of Vienna.
